Europe is once again facing a deadly climate crisis, as temperatures soar above 46°C in parts of France, Italy, and Greece. The brutal July 2025 heatwave has already claimed dozens of lives, triggered multiple wildfires, and forced the closure of tourist landmarks—including the summit of the Eiffel Tower.
Spain and Portugal are battling out-of-control blazes that have destroyed hundreds of hectares, while Germany and Poland report transportation delays due to buckled train tracks.
Cities like Rome and Athens are now deploying AI-based cooling systems and restricting daytime outdoor work. The EU is under increasing pressure to address climate adaptation policies.
“We’ve moved from climate change to climate collapse,” said a French meteorologist on BFM TV.
